Data gathered by cognitive flexibility scale (CFI), Distress tolerance scale (DTS) and negative problem orientation scale (NPOQ) and analyzed by Pearson correlation and structural equation modeling.
Results: The results show that cognitive flexibility directly affects the distress tolerance of orphans and abandoned adolescents also, cognitive flexibility by affecting on the negative problem orientation, indirectly affect distress tolerance (p<0/01). Nevertheless, the indirect effect of the negative direction was greater than the direct effect.
