What highlights the family role is the negative developmental, educational, behavioral, social and personality effectson children. The present study aimed to survey the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment on the meaning of life and the feeling lonely of parentless or with irresponsible parents adolescents in the alternative care. Methods: This study was a clinical trial with control group. Thestatistical population of this study was included all of the parentless or with irresponsible parents adolescent in alternative care Isfahan in 2015.Test group received eight sessions of one-hour group therapy based on acceptance and commitment while the control group received no intervention. Data were collected using the attitude UCLA Loneliness Scale (Russell, 1980) and the Meaning of Life Scale (Wong, 2012). Repeated measures analysis of variance analysis was used to evaluate outcomes. Results: Thirty parentless or with irresponsible parents adolescent were participated in this research (test group, n=15 and control groups, n=15). Data analysis of the study showed that the treatment based on acceptance and commitment has significantly reduced the loneliness filling among the test group members and has increased the meaning of life among them.(P≤0.001) These changes were stable in the follow-up stage. Conclusions: Treatment based on acceptance and commitment increases the compliance power and commitment to the future by increasing the sense of acceptance towards the unwelcome events of life and increases the amount of adaptability and hope.
