The Effectiveness of Group Hope Therapy Based on the Snyder\'s Theory on Self-Efficacy of Physical and Mobility Impairments Men

Introduction: Disability is one of the realities of the world today that has many undeniable impacts on society and people. This research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of group hope therapy based on the Snyder's theory on self-efficacy of physical and mobility impairments men.
Methods: This research was a quasi-experiment with pretest-posttest and a control group. The statistical population included all the physical and mobility impairments men who covered by welfare organization of Kamyaran city in 2015-2016. Thirty men were selected by available sampling method and randomly assigned to two groups. (Each group contain fifteen persons) The experimental group received eight sessions of ninety minutes hope therapy training while the control group did not receive any. As a pretest and posttest; Each group completed the self-efficacy(SGSES) questionnaire. The data were analyzed by analysis of covariance method with using of SPSS software.
Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between self-efficacy variables of the two groups. On the other hand hope therapy significantly increased self-efficacy of physical and mobility impairments in men. (P<0.01)
Conclusions: This study showed that hope therapy led to increasing self-efficacy of physical and mobility impairments in men. So the implementation of such educational programs in social work clinics and welfare centers are recommended.

Effectiveness of Immunization Against Stress Group Training on Social Anxiety Symptoms and Mental Health of High School Students

Introduction: Because college time is coinciding with the period of adolescence; High school students are experiencing major changes in mental health, fear of social situations is one of such problems caused by these changes. Some studies have approved the importance of immunization against stress education on clinical and non-clinical population. The aim of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of immunization against stress group training on social anxiety symptoms and mental health of high school students.
Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest and a control group. The population of this study included all high school students in Arak city in 2015-16 school year; among which thirty students whose scores on the social anxiety scale and mental health was less than fifty-six and higher than twenty-three, respectively; were randomly selected and assigned to experimental and control groups (fifteen patients in each group) by multi-stage cluster sampling method. After eight sessions (two sessions per week in a month; forty-five to sixty minutes per session) of educating immunization against stress group training, as pretest and posttest, Jerabek's social anxiety questionnaire(1996) and Goldberg's general health questionnaire(1979), was administered to both groups. Multivariate analysis of covariance used to analyze data in SPSS 20.
Results: Multivariate covariance analysis showed that immunization against stress training was effective in reducing symptoms of social anxiety and improving mental health. (P<0.001)
Conclusions: Regarding the results, it seems; the mental health of high school students could be improved and their social anxiety symptoms could be reduced by employing this type of intervention.

Effectiveness of Reality Therapy Training on Psychological Well-Being of Deaf Students

Introduction: Sensory defects is leading to living a mysterious and silent life. This is one of the reasons lead to losing social connections and so reduction of the quality of life and psychological well-being. The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of reality therapy training on the psychological well-being of deaf students in Isfahan, Iran.
Methods: The study was a quasi-experimental research with pretest-posttest and a control group. The study population included all deaf girl students between ten and twelve years old in 2015-16, who were selected based on convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group received ten sessions of reality therapy (ninety minutes each) in five weeks while the control group received none. As a research instrument, Ryff's scales of psychological well-being questionnaire were administered to both groups, and then multivariate analysis of covariance used to analyze data.
Results: The results showed that psychological well-being (positive relations with others, environmental mastery, self-acceptance, autonomy, personal growth, and purpose in life) of deaf students in the experimental group was significantly increased by training reality therapy compared to the control group. (P<0.05)
Conclusions: Reality therapy training based on the acceptance of life's problems increase psychological well-being and quality of life of deaf people. Sensory defects, such as deafness have a profound impact on the beliefs of personal life, using such strategies can be largely preventing more problems.

The Effectiveness of Career Counseling on Balanced Risk-Taking of People with Physical Disabilities

Introduction: Balanced risk-taking(BRT) is an important factor which affects employment and job sustainability. Lack of BRT skills among people with physical disability could cause unemployment in this group of people. The purpose of this research was to identify the effectiveness of career counseling on balanced risk-taking of people with physical disability.
Methods: A randomized clinical trial was conducted among registered people with physical disability in Ra'ad charity in Karaj; to assess the effectiveness; nine-sessions of social work intervention on BRT conducted. Forty-six participants were consented and randomly assigned into case and control (twenty-three persons each) groups. BRT was assessed before, immediately after and two months after intervention using Iranians Entrepreneurial Characteristics Questionnaire. Mann-Whitney U test was used to evaluate the outcomes.
Results: The mean age of participants was thirty-three-year-old and most of them were male(sixty percent) and who had poliomyelitis. (5.52%)
Although the results did not show a significant difference between case and control groups in posttest, BRT was significantly higher for the case group in follow-up. (Sixty days after intervention)
Conclusions: Social work intervention on BRT was an effective method for increasing BRT among people with physical disability. Therefore implementing this intervention as a part of vocational rehabilitation services is suggested.

Introduction: Despite the widely recognized importance of sexual health, sex education remains a sensitive issue for parents. Parents' feeling comfortable to talk about sex topics and their effective communication with children sexual health; have been identified as important protective factors against high-risk sexual behaviors. This study was conducted to investigate the validity and reliability of “parents comfort to discuss sex topics” and “parents intention to discuss sex topics” questionnaires.
Methods: The English version of questionnaires were translated into Persian and their validity was confirmed by an expert panel. One hundred sixty parents (eighty-four mothers and seventy-six fathers) who lived in Tehran and had at least one thirteen to sixteen-year-old child participated in the study and filled out the adapted version of questionnaires. Test-retest was performed and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, ICC and Kappa were applied to assess the reliability and internal consistency of instruments.
Results: The Cronbach’s alpha was 0.95. The Intra-Class Correlation (ICC) for “parents comfort to discuss sex topics” questionnaire was above 0.9 and Kappa for “parents intention to discuss sex topics” questionnaire was in the range of 0.64-1.
Conclusions: This study indicates that Persian version of “parents comfort to discuss sex topics” and “parents intention to discuss sex topics” questionnaires are valid and reliable and they can be used in surveys on the context of sexual education.

The Effectiveness of Social and Philosophical Schools in Social Planning

Introduction: Social planning as a theoretical and practical activity of aware human of the twentieth century, is mainly based on wisdom, rational thinking and taking advantage of new sciences like social sciences and applied mathematics. Presumption of social planning is believing that human acquired the necessary tools and knowledge to intervene in the process of social life, and in practice, he can organize them to his needs and goals.
Methods: This study was a systematic review. Therefore, books and documents related to social planning, community social work, and economic development were studied. And finally from this collection of seventeen books, articles and documents; four documents and books were selected.
Results: The nature of social problems and the dimensions of social development approach, social, environment and sustainable development movements and social security and welfare approach (in political worldviews of liberal democratic, social democracy and democratic socialism); had a great impact on the evolution of the concept, methodology and mechanism of social planning. In addition, at the micro-level, social planning has been affected by social work and social management's new theories.
Conclusions: Social planning is done with the participation of social workers and it's beneficiary. The foundation of social planning is a deep survey by social workers, this research–planning process includes the following items:
1- Survey over the social problem.
2- Specifying of aims of the plan.
3- Codification and evaluation of social plane.
It is suggested to utilize this particular social work approach to examine, control, reduce and prevent social problems.
