Introduction: In addition to economic problems, householder females, are suffered from divorce, death, disability or addiction of their husbands; and so they are considered among the most vulnerable population. This research aimed to assess the effect of psychological empowerment training on psychological well-being and quality of life of householder women. Methods: The method of this study is quasi-experimental and its statistical population was included all of the householder women who were supported by Imam Khomeini relief foundation of Yazd in 2015. Among them, thirty women are selected by access sampling method and assigned to the experimental and control groups each consisting of fifteen members. The experimental group had taken a psychological empowerment course which was held in eight, ninety minutes sessions and the control group received none. Riff`s psychological well-being and WHO quality of life questionnaires were assessed to examine the well-being and the quality of life. For statical analysis, variance analysis was done through SPSS22. Results: The results showed that there is a significant difference between the average of the scores of both groups. Conclusions: According to the results, psychological empowerment practice improves the quality of life and well-being in householder women. Therefore, it is essential to have strategic planning and it should be considered for female householders.
