								  | Introduction: There is little information about general health in Female-headed households. Women, who are usually the breadwinners in female-headed households, face gender discrimination with respect to education, earnings, rights, and economic opportunities. Aims of this study determine of quality of life and associated factors in Female-headed households undercover Welfare Organization of Ilam Province. Methods: In this descriptive analytical study, 750 Female-headed households undercover Welfare Organization of Ilam in urban and rural Ilam province participated. A validated questionnaire (SF - 36) completed in a Six-month interval and the data were collected for analysis. Results: From 750 Female-headed households contributing to the project, 708 completed questionnaires (response rate 94%). Mean ± SD age of participants was 53.3± 19.18. According to the results, some aspects of quality of life in this woman including physical function (p=<0.001), physical pain (p=<0.001), general health (p=<0.001), and overall quality of life score (p=<0.001) were associated to poor economic status. A total average life quality score was 46.08 which reflect the poor quality of life of female-headed households. Conclusions: According to the results, the most important causes affecting the quality of life in female-headed households, illiteracy, economic status, and having a chronic illness. |
