Introduction: The aim of this study was to examine the effect of education on adolescent empowerment in the prevention of risky behaviors in child labor.
Methodology: This present research is a quasi-experimental with pre-test post-test design. Statistical population of this research includes 13-18 years old child labor in the city of Karaj. For this purpose students who were in Kiana institute examined with Risk and protective factors questionnaire and then those who were more at risk were identified. After screening, 17 students selected to attend the training course. To performing pretest, Risky behavior questionnaire & risk and protective factors questionnaire completed by the students. This course consists of 11 sessions of 90 minutes. At the end of the course as well as three months after the course the participants completed risk and protective factors questionnaire & risky behavior questionnaire. T-test used to analyze the data.
Results: The results show the significant difference between pretest and posttest as well as follow up scores.
Conclusions: Based on the results of the research we can conclude that the empowerment of youth affected in the prevention of risky behaviors in child labors.
