Effects of Empowerment Programs Based on the Community-Based Approach on Increasing Social Capital Among Khorramabad Residents

| Introduction: However social capital is one of the fundamental issues in the development planning system, but social capital factors have been decreased in our country. Methodology: This is a survey research and the data have been gathered through questionnaires in Khorramabad. The researcher-made questionnaire’s validity and reliability have been approved. Results: The results suggest that the social capital level is moderate toward low in the research community and there is a significant relationship between empowerment and social capital. Conclusions: All efforts to enrich the social culture could lead to increase the social capital. Empowerment programs create political knowledge and social participation through citizens’ activities in associations, institutional and the surrounding environment changes. Consequently, empowerment programs through participation and collaboration increase people’s social capital in the society. |
