Introduction: Cancer is a life-threatening disease .increase emotional disorders and reduces the quality of life in patients. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching emotional intelligence and coping strategies on general health and happiness of cancer patients, was conducted.
Methods: The research method was experimental pre-test and post-test design with the control group. The Population of this research includes all 200 cancer patients who are in hospital Ramsar and Tonekabon that 60 of them were randomly selected and divided into three groups of 20 were replaced. Research tools include General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) and Oxford's Happiness Questionnaire. Results: The results showed that teaching emotional intelligence significantly increases general health and Happiness of Cancer Patients. But, Emotional intelligence training on general health and happiness of students Was more effective than training in coping with stress. Conclusions: Regard to the positive effects of emotional intelligence and coping strategies on the general health of patients with breast cancer, this intervention can be used as an adjunctive therapy in cancer patients.
