The Comparison of Resiliency and Coping Strategies in Individuals with Drug Addiction and Normal

Introduction: This study has been done to compare resiliency and coping strategies in addicted individuals to drug and non-addicted people.
Methodology: This study is descriptive and casual-comparative. Sampling population was all people who lived in Arak city in 1393. In this case, 94 participants who were addicted and referred to addiction treatment centers were selected randomly. Ninety-four subjects who were their relatives were selected as a normal group. Samples were matched based on age, sex and income Then resiliency scale and coping strategies endless, Parker completed. Data were analyzed using MANOVA.
Results: Results showed that there is a significant difference between addicted and non-addicted people in resiliency and coping strategies. But there isn’t a meaningful difference between the two groups in appraisal-focused and emotion-focused.
Conclusions: Regard to that increased resiliency and using problem-focused strategies decrease temptation of using drug suggested that improve resiliency and train problem-focused strategy to addicted individuals. |
