Introduction: Financial anxiety is a problem that can affect the lives of many people, including students, and play an important role in people's lives due to economic conditions, but it has been less addressed in the research literature. This study determines the mediating role of self-efficacy in the relationship between financial anxiety and life satisfaction in students. Methods: The research method was correlation using structural equation modeling and the research population was the students of Yazd University. Two hundred fifty-five students were selected by the conventional method and filled out Archuleta, Dean, and Span financial anxiety, the Diner life satisfaction questionnaire, and Scherer and Maddox general self-efficacy questionnaire. AMOS software was used for the final evaluation of the model. Results: The findings showed that financial anxiety had a significant negative relationship with self-efficacy and life satisfaction, and self-efficacy had a significant positive relationship with life satisfaction. Also, the findings showed that the fit indicators of the conceptual model were acceptable after minor corrections and self-efficacy could play a mediating role in the relationship between financial anxiety and student life satisfaction. Conclusions: Financial anxiety affects reducing students' life satisfaction by reducing self-efficacy.
