Abstract: (171 Views)
Introduction: This research aimed to examine how Acceptance and Commitment Therapy affects the acceptance and commitment to mental rumination and self-differentiation of divorced demanding couples.
Methods: The current study employed a semi-experimental design using a pre-test and post-test approach. It focused on couples seeking a consensual divorce in Tehran in 2023. A targeted non-random sampling method was used to select fourteen couples who applied for consensual divorce. Subsequently, seven couples were randomly assigned to either the experimental group or the control group. The experimental group participated in eight sessions of acceptance and commitment therapy, with six couples successfully completing the therapy program. In contrast, the control group did not receive any form of intervention. To ensure comparability between the two groups, participants were randomly selected for removal from the control group based on the number of dropouts in the experimental group. The study utilized questionnaires to evaluate mental rumination and self-differentiation. The data was analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) as well as univariate analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) statistical models.
Results: The current research findings suggest that interventions using this approach may effectively improve mental rumination and self-differentiation in couples seeking to divorce amicably.
Conclusions: The current research findings suggest that interventions using this approach may effectively improve mental rumination and self-differentiation in couples seeking to divorce amicably.
